With limited pipeline distribution on natural gas in Indonesia. PT Perusahan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk subsidiary PT Gagas Energi Indonesia (Gagas) will widen the distribution and give access of natural gas to places without pipelines. This is possible with their new technology CNG Cylinder (C-Cyl).
C-Cyl is the brainchild of PT Gagas Energi Indonesia in the act of adaptation in this pandemic times. This technology is the solution to consumer without traditional Gaslink, and still have a medium - small business with relative small consumption, said the President Director of PT Gagas Energi Indonesia, Muhammad Hardiansyah.
Hardiansyah recognize the importance of small, medium and micro business (UMKM) role in the economic recovery post pandemic times. With this new technology C-Cyl, it could push the sector use a greener more sustainable alternative in CNG and not to mention more efficient, added Hardiansyah. C-Cyl also provide flexibility for low volume usage that is suitable for small, medium and micro business in Indonesia.
C-Cyl is a technology that support the distribution of natural gas using cylinders. In the past natural gas distribution in terms of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) for industry and house gas used Gas Transport Module (GTM) that channels the CNG through decompression equipment, fitted with its storage and Pressure REduction System (PRS). In collaboration with PT Unogas Technology Indonesia, C-Cyl uses cylinder tubes that weight around 20 - 50 KG that could be stored according to the consumer needs.
C-Cyl tube than exchanges after usage by a technician team to insure safety. The tube cylinders that are empty are than filled in SPBG nearest the consumer vicinity. The difference between C-Cyl and traditional Gaslink is the exchange of CNG tube cylinders. C-Cyl only calculate and charges the gas the the consumer use
The consumer only has to pay the difference between the original weight of full tube cylinder from their first arrival. From there the payment are done on a monthly basis, according to the gas usage each month.
