PT Perusahaan Negara Tbk (PGN) as a subholding of PT Pertamina (Persero) plans a strategic projection through the development of natural gas infrastructure from 2021 - 2023.
Agus Suprijanto, SVP Corporate Communication and Investor Relation PT Pertamina (Persero) state that PGN will conduct a massive development of natural gas infrastructure starting from piping projects as an important key to optimize the utilization on natural gas nationally. Piping projects that are to be completed on 2021 - 2023 are oil pipes in Rokan, transmission pipes in North and Central Sumatera, integration pipes through South Sumatera West Java (SSWJ) - West Java Area (WJA), gas utilization pipes for petrochemical sector, transmission pipes in Kalimantan, transmission pipes in Central Java for distribution to Kendal - Semarang - Demak, and pipelines for industries, commercial and household gas (jargas).
In addition, PGN also plans to fill all the refineries owned by Pertamina. One of the target for PGN is the complete gasification program of Bolongan Refinery. Currently the refinery gas is supplied by PT Pertamina EP and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi. To keep a constant supply, PGN plans to fulfils its long-term supply by utilising the pipelines of SSWJ and WJA that is being developed and completed in the first semester of 2021 as stated in PGN RJPP.
PGN gas infrastructure development stems to power generation owned by PLN. Aligning with the government assignment in providing natural gas infrastructure in 52 power generators in the year 2022 as the implementation of decision by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (13/2020). This gives an opportunity for PGN to develop natural gas infrastructure in Central Indonesia as well as the East of Indonesia through LNG.
The oil pipeline transmission project in Rokan is also of great importance to PGN. It will greatly support the government program on increasing oil production from the Rokan Block in 2021 in the implementation of finance efficiency for the National Strategic Projects (PSN). The significance of Rokan Block is derived from acting as the backbone in producing crude oil nationally and as one of the biggest oil block in Indonesia, added Agus.
As a Gas Subholding of Pertamina, managing 96% of natural gas infrastructure and 92% of natural gas commercialisation PGN is committed to complete all its mid-term targets operation and non-operational with the emphasis on improving the natural gas businesses that could increase the volume and utilisation of natural gas nationally in general.
